As if I didn't think Luca was perfect enough, he comes out with the idea of giving Charlie a taste of home for Christmas.

"You know what we should also do?" he said, standing back after sorting the decorations into “pretty” and “pretty ugly” groups.

"What should we do?"

"We should make cinnamon buns for them. And at least two batches of cookies. Maybe we could replace the chocolate chips in one batch with peanut butter cups. We can leave them in the freezer so they just need to finish them off in the oven."

"Hmm, question. Is this really a secret ploy to get my momma's brown butter chocolate-chip cookie recipe?"

Luca gasped. "I would never. But I am willing to lend you a hand in the kitchen…and if by doing that I happen to witness the making of the cookies, then it's not my fault. And, if I happen to memorize it, that's not my fault either. I've always been very good at memorizing."

I laughed. "What kind of things do you normally memorize?"

He put the decorations down and walked to me, stopping only an inch away from touching me.

"Like the way you fill out a suit, which is only second to seeing you in an old pair of jeans. The way you refuse to be called boss, even though it's what you are. Your eyebrows always do this little twitchy thing when everyone calls you boss, but not when I do. The way you pretend the coffee in the office is any good because you don't want to hurt Zeke's feelings, but you can't wait till it's your turn to buy the brand you like. The way you're trying so hard to not stare at my ass, and especially the way your eyes scan over my bulge, as if you're hoping for X-ray vision so you can confirm I'm not wearing any underwear."

My cock hardened with every word he said. I was so ready to throw him on the sofa and have my way with him right the fuck now, but two things stood in my way. The sofa was covered in breakable decorations, and Luca stepped away just before I had a chance to slam my lips onto his and show him who was really the boss here.

"You are dangerous, Luca. Very dangerous," I breathed out.

This was a great time to check in on the cookies.

In the safety of the kitchen, I drank a full glass of cold water to see if I was able to cool down from the inside out.

My resolve was running paper thin, and I was coming up blank for excuses in my head as to why I should care what my best friend thought about me sleeping with his brother.
